Michael Nyenty is a talented and versatile drummer, known for his ability to play different styles of music ranging from traditional music of Nigeria to western pop, jazz, fusion, rock, and gospel music. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Michael’s early musical journey began in the church where he played gospel music. Later, he studied at the Span Academy of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Lagos where he was introduced to Jazz and other styles of music.

Michael’s passion for music led him to France where he was awarded a full scholarship to study at the American School of Modern Music. While being a student in France, he has become highly involved in the Afrobeat music community, collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry. Recently, Michael had the opportunity to tour with Seun Kuti, the son of the Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti and one of the biggest artists of the genre. This experience allowed Michael to showcase his drumming skills and his ability to adapt to different musical styles.

In addition to his work with Seun Kuti, Michael is also a member of the Afrobeat group “Afrobeat experience” led by Mario Orsinet. He is currently touring with the Afrobeat group Lesfreres Smith, Nora Kamm, Aiteka, Tempo Tempo and a few other projects where he has been able to showcase his versatility in different styles of music.
